A full school year of consistent, one-on-one support for middle and high school students in Reno, Nevada — built around a mentor who keeps showing up.

What the program includes

Weekly Mentorship

One-on-one sessions with a trained, background-checked mentor, held every week through the school year.

Leadership Development

Students practice decision-making, public speaking, and leading peers through structured group challenges.

Life Skills

Time management, communication, conflict resolution, healthy routines, and self-advocacy.

Financial Literacy

Budgeting, saving, understanding credit, reading a paycheck, and navigating first-job paperwork.

Career Guidance

Resume building, interview practice, workplace tours, and exposure to careers students haven't met yet.

Guest Speakers

Local professionals and community leaders sharing real, unpolished paths into their work.

Community Service

Group service projects that let students experience being the person others rely on.

Who it’s for

Middle and high school students in the Reno area who would benefit from a consistent adult relationship — referred by school counselors, community partners, or families directly. There is no cost to students or families.

How mentors are prepared

Every mentor completes an application, an interview, a background check, and child-safeguarding training before being matched. Program staff check in throughout the year and mentors are never left to figure it out alone.

One hour a week changes a year.
