Reno Youth Mentorship
A full school year of consistent, one-on-one support for middle and high school students in Reno, Nevada — built around a mentor who keeps showing up.

What the program includes
Weekly Mentorship
One-on-one sessions with a trained, background-checked mentor, held every week through the school year.
Leadership Development
Students practice decision-making, public speaking, and leading peers through structured group challenges.
Life Skills
Time management, communication, conflict resolution, healthy routines, and self-advocacy.
Financial Literacy
Budgeting, saving, understanding credit, reading a paycheck, and navigating first-job paperwork.
Career Guidance
Resume building, interview practice, workplace tours, and exposure to careers students haven't met yet.
Guest Speakers
Local professionals and community leaders sharing real, unpolished paths into their work.
Community Service
Group service projects that let students experience being the person others rely on.
Who it’s for
Middle and high school students in the Reno area who would benefit from a consistent adult relationship — referred by school counselors, community partners, or families directly. There is no cost to students or families.
How mentors are prepared
Every mentor completes an application, an interview, a background check, and child-safeguarding training before being matched. Program staff check in throughout the year and mentors are never left to figure it out alone.
